WHY Reclaim the WILD WOMAN?

The Reclaim the Wild Woman is an experience designed to heal and reveal innate strength through the body, the mind, and spirit, while lifting the veil between ourselves and the natural world.

We have the capacity to realize our innate freedom.  ‘Reclaim The Wild Woman’ means returning home to our true nature in alignment with the power of nature herself. We'll share multi-dimensional practices to deepen our connection to ourselves, our communities and the earth. The Wild Woman method draws upon the transformative power of martial arts, meditation, creative/artistic exploration and herbalism. Using these tools, we'll work from inside out to cultivate strength, release limiting beliefs, and reclaim our wild wisdom.

OUR METHODOLOGY

As women, we're naturally in harmony with nature. We wax and wane with the cycles of the moon and transform with the seasons. Our instincts and intuition are keys to our power. We have an innate craving, sometimes deep within and unrecognized in this fast-paced world to come together, to communicate, to deeply listen. Throughout our time together, we'll create time and space to ask potent questions about who we are, why we're here and reflect upon what's most sacred. We'll dive into our core questions with the support of community and the integrated tools we engage through our weekly practice. We'll work together to peel back layers to the power and answers that lie within.

Each class we work with a different element (earth, water, fire, air and ether) to ground our teachings with a corresponding movement, plant medicine, meditation and creative practice. As we move through each element like this, it will become clear where we may be stuck, tense or imbalanced. This knowledge is an opportunity to transform.

Our shared practices remind will us that we often have everything we need within us, and in the case of the medicinal plants; directly under our feet.

5 Core program Practices

  1. MOVEMENT. Reconnect with your body through simple and powerful martial arts practices. 5 Elements

  1. EARTH -   Our Fertile Ground We begin with root medicine because we need an anchor. To be here. To receive energy. To plug into the source energy of mother earth. When we’re not rooted, energy dissipates. We need to build our practice on a solid foundation. As we develop a stable foundation, we can relax and let go. The more we relax and let go, the more grounded we become.

  2. WATER -    Cleansing, Fluidity As we let go, we begin working with the water element. When we’re liquidy and heavy we are simultaneously fast and relaxed, fluid and receptive. We can respond to our environment more easily. In the realm of martial arts and boxing, all of our body weight (and then some) is moving through our punches when we let go. Bruce Lee always said ” Be like Water.” Water effortlessly flows around obstacles and can wear seemingly impenetrable barriers down. If water is flowing freely, it grounds us to earth. We’ll explore this element and related healing practices during our second week.

  3. FIRE -    Energy.   The passion behind creation. The necessary destructive force that brings about new life Next, we move up to the solar plexus. Fire. Where we digest our food and our experiences. This may be where we store anger in the body that needs releasing. Fire is also expressed through our inner light, our gaze, or our stare. We often feel the inner predator or primal self when we work with staring and stalking our ‘prey.’ Fire is also our explosive energy, our heart, passion and electricity. We’ll work fire through movement, meditation, creative exploration and healing ritual during our third week.

  4. AIR -      Breath. Winds of Change This is breath, movement, winds of change. The space around our heart and what we communicate to the world. Here, we sense what’s happening around us through sound and sensation. We'll engage the power of our breath, our voice and listen to what's blowing in the wind.
